Rules & Guidelines

Dear Parents,

 

Please review the list of items below and discuss what you feel is appropriate with your child.  We have prepared this list with the realization that many things do not apply to our campers, yet we wanted to be comprehensive and transparent regarding the expectations that we have at Camp Shtetl for everyone to have the best experience possible.   • Appropriate attire such as pants and shoes are to be worn by davening.

  • No physical or verbal abuse or altercations.

  • No vaping, smoking, drugs, alcohol, or illegal substances permitted.

  • No bad language or bullying tolerated.

  • All activities have mandatory participation; if a circumstance presents itself, please discuss with staff or Rabbi Tannenbaum.

  • Cellphones, Ipods, Mp3 players and books from home are not permitted.  If sending your child with one of these items for travel, please inform us, and he will be required to turn in upon arrival.

  • Campers will be able to use the camp phone to call home in the evenings and on Friday afternoons.

  • Lifeguards and pool rules must be adhered to during water activities.

  • No destruction of property. Parent will be monetarily responsible for repairs.

  • Campers will be taught to use and drive farm equipment; repairs for damage due to misuse or "joy riding" will be the parents' responsibility.

  • Camp library books should stay in the library.

  • Respect the personal space of others.

  • Leaving camp grounds without permission is prohibited.

  • Campers may not enter staff rooms.

  • Everyone will be involved with farm chores.

  • Laundry will be done in the evenings by the campers as needed.  Detergent will be provided.

  • Any food brought by campers is expected to be Chalav and Pas Yisroel as it applies or it will unfortunately be discarded.

  • Canteen will be available daily.

  • No dude wipes or any other “wipes” should be brought to camp. We are on a septic system and these are not compatible.

  • If unfortunately a camper does not follow the rules listed above and therefore needs to go home, the parents will be responsible for making the necessary travel arrangements at their own expense.
